-          Top hand / bottom hand

-          ‘Hitting’ straight

-          Using feet to move down the pitch and ‘hitting’ straight

-          Lots of simple repetitions (10 / 20 / 30 etc…)

-          Video analysis intro

-          other sports

-          S & C programme

-          Intro discussion sessions

-          twice a week if possible

 

 

Pre season

(Jan 1 – Mar 31)

-          Retain basic drills to every session as warm up

-          Lots of repetition (pull shots / front foot driving / using the feet to drive)

-          Nets

-          Intro to b/machines at u12/13

-          Video analysis

-          Other sportsS & C programme

-          Simple planning discussion sessions

-          Introduce no such thing as failure as long as there is learning

-          twice a week minimum

Season

(April 1 – Mid Sept)

-          Retain basic drill warm ups throughout season

-          Introduce stop… start… continue…

-          Introduce value of matchwinners!

-          Introduce value of 100+ scores

-          Maintain S & C

-          Introduce mental toughness (u12)

-          After match discussions (10 mins max)

-          minimum 3 times per week

-          maximum 5 times per week including practice

-          Festivals (5 days)

BASIC DRILLS / LEARNING ABOUT COMPONENT PARTS / OUTCOME DRILLS TO CATER FOR TECHNICAL FACTORS (LITTLE COACH INPUT) / CREATING STRONG HABITS / FIRST THERE – LAST TO LEAVE - REPEAT… REPEAT… REPEAT… BASICS YOU WONT BE WRONG!

-          Speed off the mark

-          Maintain S & C

-          Match winning perform stats

-          Develop psych skills

-          Introduce match priority planning

-          Maintain focus on basics / simple skills

-          After match discussions (15 mins max)

-          Next day discussions (1 hour max)
